Ways to Save Money on Textbook!

Since I'm a poor poor university student, I do everything I can to save money!!
And when school starts, I know that every college/uni students' wallet are suffering.
SO! Here are some ways I've learnt myself to save money on TEXTBOOKS!

1. PDF/Ebook
Some PDF files you can find for free...don't think I should be very specific about this...but the hint is: torrent!
Some publishers may also sell an ebook copy of their book online! These are at least 20% cheaper than the actual book!
You can also always print these files if you want a cheap physical book!

2. Buy a Book Together!
So this is quite similar to #1, as in that you will gain a pdf file or a copy of the book. Collect money as a group to buy an expensive textbook, scan or copy the pages and acquire a PDF or copy of the book! And when you have no use for the book anymore, you can always sell it second hand!
Which leads us to my next point!

* just a thought that popped up, you could also just borrow the book from the school's library :P the library is required to have physical copies of your txtbooks for reference! but they may be in bad shape :/

3. Used Books!
This, everyone would know. What's bad about it is that you have to settle the price, meeting time with the seller without knowing the exact condition of the book you are paying for. Nonetheless, it's a cheap alternative!
Every university should have its own used book selling site or event going on! For U of T students you can go to "TUSBE"!!

4. Book Rentals!
Some of you may not know, but many school bookstores, or sometimes online textbook stores will have a textbook rental program! They lend it to you for a fraction of its sale price but the downside is that you have to be very careful with the book, no writing or highlighting.

5. Internet Stores!!!
This method I've used most recently and managed to save 70% of textbook money! You may find your book on online stores such as ebay, amazon, kijiji, or ali baba etc... It may be like International Version instead of North American Version but honestly, there isn't much difference, but its a HELL LOT CHEAPER :D

I think I've mentioned every method I have used to buy my books. :) I know some may be against your moral values...but tat dun matter to a poor student like me T^T LOL

And as a side info, for University of Toronto students, if you have spent lots on your textbook and have the receipt for them, you can apply for "UTSU Book Bursary" (www.utsu.ca/section/1047)

Good luck on book searching!!!!!
